Hi, I’m Amara!
I'm a multidisciplinary designer who strives to design for social good and bring voices to marginalized communities. Currently, I am an MFA candidate at the University of Connecticut, focusing on creating an interactive narrative digital archive for Second Generation immigrants struggling with mental health stigma in their communities.
What am I looking for in my next job?
I want somewhere that will contribute to my growth as a designer.
I want to work on projects that have a meaningful impact on users. Whether it's improving the usability of a product, enhancing user satisfaction, or solving complex design challenges.
I believe that the best user experiences are created when designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders collaborate effectively. I'm looking for a role where I can contribute my skills to a team and also learn from others to create user-centered designs that make a positive impact.

If you can't find me at my computer... I'm either
At a workout class; I've been lifting for about 2 years now while also keeping up with HIIT
Traveling; I've been to 28 states, and 6 different countries so far, and want to go to many more!
Matcha; a huge fan of both iced and hot matcha! Was previously a coffee fan but have been trying to cut back on it a bit
Reading an drawing; reading has always been a love of mine and whenever I have free time, I like to pick up a realistic fiction or psychological thriller novel. Drawing has been the foundation of my creative career and will I love taking a break from the screen to go back to traditional at times.
